Why evidence should guide HealthTech capital
An investment thesis becomes stronger when technical promise is examined alongside clinical use and commercial reality.
A compelling technology and a large market are important starting points. For CHP, they are not the end of an investment assessment.
Our thesis asks what happens when a technology enters a real care environment. Does it address a meaningful clinical need? Can the intended users incorporate it into their work? What evidence is needed for the intended use? Who makes the adoption decision, and how does the commercial model support it?
These questions connect scientific assessment with clinical validation, implementation and market access. They also create decision points. Evidence may support further investment, indicate a need to adapt the approach, or show that an opportunity should not progress.
This is the thinking behind staged capital deployment. It is not a claim that risk disappears or that every uncertainty can be resolved before an initial commitment. It is a commitment to letting clinical and commercial learning shape the decision to scale.
A CHP Perspective sets out our own view on investing in health technology. It is not research, advice or a description of completed investment activity.
